Q/ How old are our motorhomes?

A/ Our fleet of 9 motorhomes are probably the best you can hire in Scotland & we have another 3 brand new 24 plates coming in Spring 2024 which will be replacing our current 22 plate models.

Q/ How much is the deposit & when will full balance be required.

A/ Our deposit is only £100 if your hire is more than 3 months away, a further £150 will be due 90 days before & the final balance is due 30 days before your booking commences.

Q/ What hidden extra’s do you charge for as we have looked at other companies & there are lots of things we need to pay for?

A/ We only have a small amount extra’s we offer, if you require an extra driver it’s £20 for full duration of hire, £25 per hire to take a pet (2 small dogs) (Jack Russell size) or (1 medium size) (Collie size) due to extra cleaning when vehicle returns & if you want a towel & bedding bundle its £25 per head (you are more than welcome to take your own bedding/towels etc. We provide everything else from picnic tables n chairs to water hose to cutlery etc

Q/ How many miles to the Gallon does the motorhomes use & what type of fuel is it?

A/ All our motorhomes run on diesel & typically can do between 29 & 34 miles per gallon.

Q/ Can I drive a Motorhome on my normal driving licence?

A/ Yes! All of our vehicles can be driven on a normal UK manual driving licence (but not if you only hold an automatic licence).

Q/ What time can I collect the motorhome?

A/ We will be in touch approx 1 week before your hire and give you an indication of collection time but it’s usually between 1pm & 3pm (unless you have an early collection booked which is subject to availability and can’t be promised).

Q/ What time do we have to return the motorhome?

A/ We require the motorhome to be returned and available for your allocated time slot for us to deep clean for the next customer, 11am return is the latest slot. What we try & do is come to an arrangement where you might be able to collect early at 12:30 but possibly return to us between 10am & 10:30am. We will arrange your pickup and return time slot before your hire starts. (We work similar to you getting into a hotel room and leaving a hotel room) When returning please leave yourself plenty of time to unload the vehicle and fuel the vehicle back up. Ideally aim to be back approx 30 minutes, So you can fuel up at the petrol station in front of our site then unload your belongings into your car etc, before returning the keys for your allocated return slot.

A day or two before your hire ends we will send out an email for you to let us know if there is anything we need to look at on the motorhome before it goes out on its next hire. This is so we can have the part if required as if we don’t know it will delay the next customers pickup time / start of holiday.(We don’t want that to happen to any customer).

Q/ We have never hired a motorhome before can you give us some recommendations?

A/ Approx 90% of our customers have never hired a motorhome before, we will look after you from start to finish. We would always recommend staying at campsites for a minimum of 2 nights , this gives you plenty of time to explore the area you are staying in. If you book into a different site each night you will feel you are constantly on the move i.e. you check into a site around 2pm, you get the vehicle sorted on your pitch and probably start heading out to explore your surroundings around 3pm, the bummer is you have to start packing up again the next morning at 10am as you have to be offsite at 11am.

Q/ Do we need to bring anything with us etc?

A/ The only things you will require are your clothes, bedding/pillows etc unless you have booked a bedding package with us. If you are travelling with kids we would recommend they use sleeping bags as it is much easier. We believe there is nothing else required as the motorhomes are fully equipped.

Q/ Does the motorhomes have isofix for child seats.

A/ None of our motorhomes have isofix in them. A child seat can be fitted but will need to be one which can be secured with the seatbelt system in the motorhome.

We can supply a child seat at a cost of £10.00 per seat per hire.

All child seats MUST be fitted by the child’s parent or guardian even if we supply the seat.

Children must normally use a child car seat until they're 12 years old or 135 centimetres tall, whichever comes first. Children over 12 or more than 135cm tall must wear a seat belt.

Q/ I’m a bit concerned about the size of the Motorhome when it comes to driving?

A/ Our Motorhomes range from 5.9m (for the 590) to 7.4m (for the 746, 740 & zefiro 696) if you’re not sure about the larger vehicle why not hire our Rollerteam T-Line 590? It’s only around 1m longer than your average car! It’s a 4 berth and very luxurious. We are more than happy to let you see the larger motorhomes though, give you some guidance and put your mind at ease, please just ask us.

Q/ Will we be shown how to operate the motorhome?

A/ Absolutely! We used to give customers a tour of each vehicle which could take approx 1 hour on day of collection. Approx 1 to 3 weeks before your hire we send out an email regarding each drivers DVLA check details and there will a 25 minute video attached to how to work the basics & on the day each customer has an 1 hour slot to which we ask you to watch a more in depth 25-30 min video at our premises before you leave. Once you have watched this with us we will then send over the video to your email just in case you need a refreshing of various videos on how to operate the motorhome during your hire. The videos work fantastic as we felt some customers couldn’t take all the info on board but you can now watch the videos as many times as you require. But please remember you can always ask us on the day if your not sure about anything.

Q/ Are there any campsites you would recommend?

A/ Sunnyside Croft Touring & Camping Site in Arisaig, its a cracking wee site right next to the beach. Ian and Julie will look after you there. Milton Of Fonab Caravan Park, Pitlochry, this campsite is absolutely spotless and in a great location, ideal for your last night as its only around 1hr 20mins back to Larbert. Caolasnacon Caravan & Camping Park, between Glencoe & Kinlochleven, another great wee find right on the waters edge and surrounded by mountains.2 other campsites closer to home & ideal for your last evening before returning your vehicle are Witches Craig & the Blair Drummond Caravan park (kids play park in the middle).

Q/ Does the motorhome have a bike rack?

All our motorhome have fixed bike rakes for 4 normal bikes or 2 electric bikes (This is do to the weight of electric bikes).

PLEASE NOTE

You'll likely need to swivel the handlebars on the bike that sits nearest the motorhome (for clearance) so we suggest having tools to allow you to adjust the position of the handlebars and the driver must make sure they are secure for travelling. (Extra straps maybe require) Not Supplied.

Q/ Can we park our car at the motorhome collection point

A/ Yes, We have spaces on site for 1 car per motorhome hire. The electric gates are locked in the evening & there are also 10 cameras on site for security. We ask for a set of keys to be left while away in the Motorhome. Vehicles are parked at owners own risk.

Q/ Do we need to leave a deposit when we collect the motorhome?

A/ As with major hotels we require to take a hold of £500 (other hire companies can be £2000) on a bank/credit card etc. This is to cover any damage to vehicle whilst on hire & also gives a further confirmation of your identity to our insurance company. The £500 doesn’t come out your Acc, it will come up pending on your bank statement but will drop off after 7 to 10 days & you will gain access to it again.

Q/ Are the motorhomes dog friendly?

A/ Yes! we are happy having 2 small dogs (Jack Russell) or 1 medium size dog (Collie size). NO LARGE DOGS. There is a small charge of £25.00 per hire and this is for the extra deep clean which is required between hires.

Q/ Can i take the motorhome on a ferry?

A/ Yes you can. All we ask is that you are back on the mainland a day or two before your return day/date as you need to be back on time so the next customer has there holiday too.

We can supply the reg and sizes for you. We will advise the reg maybe subject to change as some models we have 2 of them like our T-Line 590, Zefrio 696 and our 6 berth 746 model.
